Seganing

Seganing Waterfall is one of the nicest places in Nusa Penida where you can admire beautiful landscapes. And make yourself a little fright by going down the cliff side following a more or less well traced path. And more or less well protected… That’s the real adventure in Nusa Penida !

Don’t expect to see an impressive waterfall because like in all the other places called waterfall in Nusa Penida, it is a very small one. But you will be rewarded with a small natural pool rather nice.

Going down the cliff at Seganing Waterfall

Climbing down will about twenty minutes with a small path carved into the cliff. A kind of bamboo railing protects you from a fall but going down is still quite impressive. Personally, I prefer another location a little further south, Guyangan Waterfall. Guyangan has the same general characteristics but the staircase is easier and the natural pools are more fun.

Around Seganing Waterfall

If you are a bit in a hurry, or if you are already exhausted by several descents and ascents of Nusa Penida cliffs, simply stay up there. Seganing Waterfall is indeed worth the trip even if you decide not to go down the cliff. A small bamboo platform has recently been set up to overlook the cliff and take cool pictures. A small warung also recently opened.

You can also take your scooter to go to the next hill where you will find Gunung Cemeng temple. From there you can see the path going down the cliff. You will have a very beautiful view of Nusa Penida coast from Batu Bolong, which inspired the logo of Warnakali dive center, until Kelingking Beach.

How do you get to Seganing Waterfall ?

The road to go there is pretty good now. It is mostly the same road than the one to go to Temeling. It is only a 10 minutes ride to go from one to the other.

From Toyapakeh, take the direction of Crystal Bay but turn left in the direction of Kelingking Beach at the first big intersection with a small temple in the middle. After a few kilometers take the second right (not the first one going to Broken Beach, the road is worse). It is a 40 minutes drive. If you are lost you can ask to local people but they cal the place Sebuluh Waterfall. But it is really better to download Google Map when you have some wifi at your hotel, type Seganing Waterfall and then follow the indications off line.

There are many options to combine the visit of Seganing Waterfall with other places to see. Check here some ideas of tours in Nusa Penida including TemelingKelingking Beach and Broken Beach and Angel Billabong. You can also go to Seganing Waterfall on your way back from Atuh Beach or Suwehan Beach.

And you can find also more practical information, including how to drive and how to get around in Nusa Penida.
