Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan gather some of the best scuba diving experience in Bali. These three islands are located 45 minutes away with a fast boat from the southeast coast of Bali. But you will probably enjoy better your day if you leave directly from the island and get the best scuba diving in Nusa Penida.
Nusa Penida diving sites are indeed among the best ones in Southeast Asia. Why ? Because they are populated by a very diversified marine fauna, from the smallest pygmy seahorse to the impressive Mola Mola. Without forgetting the majestic Manta rays that stay most of the year around Nusa Penida.

Your scuba diving day in Nusa Penida in a nut shell
A driver will pick you up at your hotel to bring you to Toyapakeh, where our Buraq 3 fast boat is based. All your equipment is already equipped on board the boat, with the sizes you gave us the day before. You can also meet us directly at our Toyapakeh toko, if you prefer to save the price of the transfer. After a little coffee to get to know each other and to fill the forms, we are ready to go for our diving day adventure !

Customer’s choice : 2 ou 3 dives, Nitrox, night dive and more
We usually schedule 2 dives in the morning and/or in the afternoon. And sometimes 3 dives for a full day. A night dive is also possible. Nitrox diving is optional, as well as diving with 15-liter tank or junior tank. Our center and its instructors can also handle adaptive diving for divers with disabilities.
The tide and the schedule of the day will drive the course of our day diving in Nusa Penida. But we usually leave around 8 am to be on site before the other boats coming from Sanur. In this case, the return to Toyapakeh is generally around 1 p.m. On time to catch a boat to Bali or to the Gili islands if this is your last day in Nusa Penida. Or to take advantage of the afternoon to visit Nusa Penida island.
After signing the log books our driver will drive you back to your hotel. With so many images and colors in your eyes!

Where do we dive in Nusa Penida ?
We dive around fifty dive sites in Nusa Penida and Bali. Enough to meet everyone’s taste ! We selected for you our top 20 dives sites in Bali but we are open to other ideas !
Let’s start with the most iconic Nusa Penida dive sites. First, Crystal Bay where divers from around the world come to meet the famous Mola Mola. And then Manta Point with its Manta ray cleaning stations.
Drift dives of the north coast of Nusa Penida are also very popular : Ped, SD point, Sental, Buyuk and Tugu. All these dive sites form together an extremely large coral plateau.

If you like currents
If you like currents, or sometimes strong currents, you will probably love all these diving sites, along Nusa Penida channel. There, the currents bring a lot of life. From the easiest to the most challenging dives let’s mention Toyapakeh, just below the Warnakali diving center.
Number 2 is Gamat Bay, a vast shallow coral plateau, extended by a wall that descends to 40 meters. Then Amok, a technical but intense dive, below the eponymous sunset bar. And last but not least, Ceningan Wall, a wall rich in color that always reserves lots of surprises in blue.
On the north coast of Nusa Lembongan you will dive Mangrove, a dive site extremely complete and diverse, and Blue Corner, a dive in the blue where you can meet pelagic animals.
And finally on the southwest coast of Nusa Penida: more technical sites including the legendary Batu Bolong with its abundant life and its aquatic ballets of sharks, manta rays and Mola Mola!

Which dive experience is needed ?
Nusa Penida dive sites are varied enough to offer exceptional moments to all divers. Whatever their level. To join us for this scuba diving day you need to be certified with PADI, SSI CMAS or any internationally recognized organisation. But you can also try a discovery dive package if you are not certified divers.
Most sites have configurations that also accommodate different levels of experience. We are nevertheless aiming to constitute groups of homogeneous level. There will be a maximum of 4 divers per guide. Discovery divers will remain, for example, on the Manta Point or Gamat Bay plateau, within the 12 meters deep limit. While certified and more experienced divers will discover the deeper wall. The gentle slope of the north coast dive sites also allows us to adapt the depth of the dive to everyone’s experience and certification.
Some sites, however, require a very good level of diving, such as Batu Bolong. So we only go there for very special occasions.
Diving with a Manta Ray
At what time do we go diving in Nusa Penida ?
Pool training and pool discovery dives usually take place in the afternoon. We therefore prefer to go fun diving in the morning. With a return at the end of the morning or at the start of the afternoon in the case of a 3-dive day. Or even at the end of the afternoon in case of a ride to the Gili of Padang Bay.
We also sometimes schedule 2 dives in the morning plus 2 dives in the afternoon. In case of a night dive, the departure will be around 6 p.m. to jump in the water during the sunset and finish at full night. Awesome !

A typical day
- hotel pick-up: 7:30 a.m.
- departure from the port: 8:15 a.m.
- first dive around 9am (depending on the site)
- surface interval with coffee or tea and fruit salad
- second dive around 11:30 am
- return to port around 1 p.m.
- return to the hotel around 1:30 p.m.
Times may vary depending on the tides, the sites we will dive or your constraints. If you have a boat to take to reach Bali or the Gili Islands we can for example keep your luggage at the toko. And bring you back on time to Toyapakeh port to catch your boat.

How much is diving day in Nusa Penida ?
Most dive centers have lowered their prices during the coronavirus crisis. The price of a diving day consisting of two fun dives in Nusa Penida including a dive at Manta Point is currently close to 1.5 million rupees per person. It will cost a little more for a discovery dive if you are not certified.

Great Experience
I strongly recommend this dive center. We were lucky to have Inri as a teacher. We first did a super nice class in the pool the day before the dive. Inri taught us the basics of diving. Then the next day we did two dives. I felt super secure, everything was explained very well and we had a lot of fun with our teacher which is so funny but also very serious. Can highly recommend to dive with Yann and the rest of his team! I spent 2 days diving with them- total 4 dives.
