    1. This website is very helpful.

Is there any difference in the types of boats that leave from Sanur compared to Kusamba?

Is it much more difficult getting off the boat at Kusamba compared to Sanur?

Could you please email me a map?

      Best Wishes

      1. Hello Kellie,
The fast boat between Bali and Nusa Penida are very similar, from Sanur and from Kusamba.
There are some floating jetties in Kusamba leading you from the boat to the beach so I would say getting off is a little bit less comfortable but it is manageable.
Finally i sent the map to your email.
If you need any assistance to book your boat, a driver in Bali or Penida or snorkeling I can also send you a contact.

Enjoy your stay in Bali !

  1. Hi Blaise

Thanks for your informative website. During wet season are you able to visit most attractions or do the state of the roads cause access problems? Thx

    1. Hi Kylie,
You will be able to visit most of Nusa Penida attractions during wet season. The state of the roads will not really be an issue.
But clearly it will be less nice to drive a scooter under heavy rain. And it would not be recommended as well to hike down to Kelingking Beach for example if its raining because the path will be slippery. Nevertheless even during wet season the rain usualy last only a few hours during the day.

  7. Hello Blaise,
We are a family of four adults and have planned a Day Visit to Nusa Penida in the second week of June 2024 from Sanur.
I require the following information since you are a seasoned visitor to the island. and also more authentic.
    1. Please share the tourist or high res map.
    2. Since we will travel from Kuta to Sanur to board a boat to Nusa Penida, will you please recommend the best boat service with contact details and also the return fare? Is it necessary to book online or in advance?
2a) There is quite conflicting information about ticket fare being charged. Will you please guide me in this respect?
Also, let me know the scheduled departure from both ends.
    3. As I said it will be a day trip, which port or place I should get off and reboard the same vessel back to Sanur?
    4. Though I can drive A scooter, none others are used to it. In such case will you please recommend me a vehicle with a driver cum guide? Please share his/her contact details and cost for the day.
    5. Lastly, kindly share a list of interesting places to be visited in Nusa Penida as a day trip.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Hello Prakash,

      1. The map is attached.

  8. Hello,

Great post! Can you send me a map of Nusa Penida?

We’ve really got a day and a half (till 1PM) on site (sleeping in Ped). We’d like to do both South-East and West coast as well as some snorkelling? Sounds doable? In which order? Any recommendations for snorkelling company that’ll take us out on a boat (Manta Bay and Point)?

Two of us going end of June.

    Thanks,

    Charles

    1. Hello Charles,
The first day will be a busy day with the East tour + the West tour and then snorkeling on the next day but it is doable.

  10. Great information on your website. I am so thankful to have happened upon it. Can you please send me a map? Also, I will be visiting during Nyepi. Is there anything I can do for the day? I am there for diving and snorkelling but that’s not an option. Many thanks! L

    1. Hi,

      Thank you for your message!

Just a quick note: during Nyepi Day – the Balinese «Day of Silence» – everything is completely closed, including in Nusa Penida. That means:

🔹 No transportation or movement is allowed:

No boats between Bali, Nusa Penida, Lembongan, or Lombok.

No flights (even the airport is shut down).

No taxis, scooters, or any other transport.

You are not allowed to leave your hotel or villa from 6 AM on Nyepi Day until 6 AM the following morning.

🔹 Shops, restaurants, and ATMs are closed.
Even electricity and internet may be limited in some areas, depending on the local rules.

Nyepi is a deeply spiritual day for Balinese Hindus and is strictly observed. The best thing to do is plan to relax where you are and enjoy the silence and starry night skies – it’s a unique experience!

📌 You can read more about it here:
👉 Celebrations & Ceremonies in Bali and Nusa Penida (Nyepi info)

Let me know if you need help adjusting your travel plans around Nyepi!

      Best regards,
      Blaise
